This is just a copy of the club proposal that was sent in to faculty this year if you're interested in reading it.

Goals

• Provide a welcoming environment and supportive community within the school
• Learn about LGBTQ+ history
• Discuss social issues faced by the LGBTQ+ community today
• Get involved in volunteer and community service work
• Present and analyze examples of representation in media
• Answer questions and give advice
• Incorporate school curriculum into LGBTQ+ activism (making websites, writing articles, translating resources into other languages)

Possible activities for club time

• Present and discuss recent LGBTQ+ related news
• Watch short films and scenes from movies, listen to music, look at art
• Share community service opportunities
• Introduce prominent LGBTQ/STEM individuals
• Discuss books and recommend other readings
• Plan for events or fundraisers (raising money for LGBTQ+ charities)
• Answer questions through a question box (able to be anonymous)

Club structure

• Meet once a week (on a set day) from 3:00-4:30
• Half of the club time will be used for planned and informative activities and half of the time will be free time where anyone safely share and express themselves
